I purchased this mic after hearing someone use it online as it sounded comparable to the Yeti. I cannot understand why the audio that I get out of this mic sounds so terrible. I am approximately two inches away from the mic, within the cardioid shape, and yet I sound quiet and probably worse than something that could come from my phone. I can raise my voice into the microphone and it's still not good enough.
I've owned this mic for several months now but still cannot figure out how to get the right sound out of it. If I turn up the sensitivity too high, then my audio starts to have cracks in it. Plus there's a TON of white noise.
I guess it's just a bad mic? What do you guys think? So many variables. Is your recording area sound treated? Do you use any compression?
Is it uncleanable in audio editor? Do you have proper gain-staging? While its convenient to just say its a bad mic it could be potentially a mix of several small factors or one big issue.
I havent used this microphone personally but I have used the Yeti. Truth be told, the Yeti didnt have THAT great of a sound profile. (What the yeti has is an incredibly good marketing team). Do you have a clip of what it sounds like vs a clip of what you think it SHOULD sound like? My recording area is not sound treated. Kirgizcha salamdashuu irlari.
I don't think I use compression? I haven't messed with any settings like that. It's fairly cleanable in the audio editor but if I want to raise the volume of the clip then all the noise comes back.
